Ms Loubna TRICHA, Director General IP of the OFPPT, received Ms Carmen NDAOT, Minister of Labour, Employment, Vocational Training and Youth Integration of Gabon. This meeting was devoted to examining the assessment of the actions initiated with the OFPPT and the areas of cooperation to be jointly developed for the development of Gabon's training system.

The meeting focused mainly on the use of OFPPT's expertise to upgrade Gabon's vocational training system on priority aspects: development of the network of institutions, training engineering, training and further training of trainers and technical-pedagogical staff,.....

Also on the agenda of this meeting was the progress of work at the Libreville Training Centre for Transport and Logistics, including His Majesty King Mohammed VI and President Ali Bongo OndimbaMohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development while the OFPPT provides technical assistance, training engineering and training for technical and pedagogical staff and trainers.

 

The OFPPT is requested to provide support for the creation of other sectoral institutions in Gabon and the development of structures and mechanisms for continuous training in order to ensure the availability of qualified resources.

To finance these actions and support the implementation of the identified cooperation projects, the two partners have also agreed to jointly seek funding from international donors, such as the Islamic Development Bank, the World Bank, the African Development Bank,...

 

The Gabonese minister's visit was also marked by the signing of a convention entrusting the OFPPT with the training for the benefit of Gabonese training students.

The Gabonese Minister and the accompanying delegation then visited the National Institute for Training in Road Transport Professions (INFTR) - Casablanca, which houses the training of trainers who will supervise the centre dedicated to Transport and Logistics Professions courses being carried out by the Foundation Mohammed VI for Sustainable Development>. This visit took place in the presence of Mr Abdelilah HIFDI, President of the FT-CGEM Transport Federation.

The Gabonese delegation also visited the Mohammed VI School of Training in Construction and Public Works - Settat in order to learn about the expertise developed by the OFPPT in the construction industry.

As a reminder, several cooperation agreements bind the OFPPT to Gabonese vocational training actors, in particular the agreements signed during the last Royal Visit to Libreville on 8 June 2015.

Currently, 40 Gabonese trainees are in training at OFPPT institutions.
